Fridays for me means casual and fun. It's the last work day before the weekend and I'm ready to see Saturday.
I based today's wardrobe on these Report booties that I got from DSW earlier this year (They're on sale now for a super cheap price). I love the rugged style of these, but with the chunky heal and pointed toe they are very girly.
I paired them with skinny distressed jeans from Target, and a brown vintage belt from Regeneration, which is a high end consignment shop which also sells a lot of vintage clothing.
On top I wore a camouflage sheer tank that I scored from TJ Maxx last year and this wooden chain link necklace. Everything about this outfit has a very woodsy feel, which is perfect for this warm fall day.
Since I work in an office, I covered my shoulders with this thin khaki green cover-up from Guess. The sleeve length is perfect for a transition of seasons and also gives this neutral color a lot of character.
I feel like this cover up hangs at just the right length and I love the pockets as well, which makes it professional yet casual at the same time.
For a bag, I used my baby: a beautiful Vince Camuto cobalt blue leather satchel with gold hardware and spikes.
Even though this beauty is a vibrant shade of blue, I still consider it as a neutral. I just feel like it goes with absolutely everything and I seriously use this thing year round; it's that awesome.
For my make up today I kept things fairly simple.
A few winners in this look are:
Urban Decay's Illuminated. The trick with this is that it can be used as a wonderful night time high light because there's a lot of glitter, but if you use a light enough hand it can definitely be used in the day time as well. I never use the brushes that are provided with products, but I used a Sephora 74 brush and made sure to tap off the excess product very well before application.
For my lips I applied a lip stain from L'oreal in the color Pink Resistance. Light lip shades don't always work for me because my lips are pretty pigmented on their own, so that's why if I do go for a light lip, I go for lip stains because they stay on all day with little to no touch-ups. I have some darker shades from this same line and they're wonderful. The formulation is great and the staying power is phenomenal.
For cheek color I used the Maybelline master highlight in Nude. I discovered these when they first came out and bought them in every shade but one. Maybelline has really stepped up their game and these are great if you want to have a light glow, but a bronzed look too. It's a two in one for sure!
And lastly, the colors I chose for my neutral eye are from Smashbox and Too Faced (color I used was Creme Brulee).
Over all I really enjoyed this look. I'm glad that we had another warm day to allow for flowy tops and opened toed shoes.
Everybody enjoy your weekend... and TGIF!!!
I love that you add what makeup you use. Also I never get you reply back to my comment. I think you need to go in the setting and change you e-mail stuff. Just and FYI. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I'll see what I can do to fix the problem.
